A Message to Referring Attorneys

Many of the cases we handle at Drake & Collopy, P.C. are referred to us by other attorneys. If your client has a workers' compensation claim which falls outside the scope of your practice, we welcome the opportunity to work with you and the client to achieve a successful outcome.

Many attorneys have felt confident in recommending our services to their clients. They know that we not only consistently achieve excellent results, but that we can be trusted to maintain the highest levels of integrity at every stage of the process.

We are committed to making the referral experience smooth, positive, and beneficial for everyone involved. Upon accepting a referral, we will sign an agreement with both you and the client establishing the distribution of fees, so that all parties are informed and protected in accordance with the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 1.5 (f) - (h).

When it comes to your degree of involvement in a case you refer, we are extremely flexible. Some referring attorneys prefer to have some level of participation. Most want no involvement once the fee-sharing agreement is executed other than the occasional status update. The extent to which you participate is entirely up to you.

We are confident that once you see our work product, you'll continue to refer your workers' compensation clients to us. Our goal is to develop an ongoing relationship of referrals with our referring attorneys.

If you would like to discuss a workers' compensation matter for potential referral with Paul Drake or Kevin Collopy, contact us at 312.345.0220, or email us. Feel free to use us as a sounding board for any situations where you are unsure whether your client has a viable claim. We look forward to working with you!
